Students are learning all derivations of academic words by identifying academic vocabulary in their reading assignments and daily work for core academic classes.  Once students have identifed a new academic term, they record the word and other derivations of the word on an Academic Word Families Chart.  Click on the link below to see a list of academic vocabulary terms that students have collected so far this year.
